What is Functional Movement:

The Functional Movement Screen is regularly utilized by sports teams and organizations across the globe. The Functional Movement Screen is used to improve performance and reduce injury by assessing an individual’s movement patterns and identifying weaknesses in the body. These are weaknesses that will affect your performance when lifting weights, running, cycling or any physical effort and once corrected will help reduce likelihood of injury, decrease pain and discomfort, and help you perform at your best.



How Does Functional Movement Screen Work?

Functional Movement Screen is a multi-part evaluation used to determine the quality of a “movement pattern.” A movement pattern is defined as the way you move while you exercise. Each person has their own movement pattern; some patterns are functional while others tend to make you more prone to injury, added muscle tension, and weakness. For this reason, The Functional Movement screening process was created to gauge balance, stability, and mobility. The system works by asking patients to perform seven fundamental movements during which weaknesses and imbalances can be readily observed and measured.
